Steven & William were born in St. Louis, and now live and work in New York. The brothers collaborated in 2000 and since then, fused their talents and artistic practices into an extensive body of work that includes large-scale installations, sculpture, performance art, jewelry, fashion accessories, and furniture designs. Many of their pieces are inspired by childhood memories and experiences that they shared together as adults.
Steven & William produced work for Christian Lacroix and Anthropologie, and participated in both US and international exhibitions including Design! Life! Now! at the Smithsonian Institution: Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum, Pricked! Extreme Embroidery, at The Museum of Art and Design, New York, and Le Cas Du Sac at Musee de la Mode et du Textile, Palais Louvre, Paris. They were included in Hunt & Chase at Salomon Contemporary, East Hampton. Steven & William’s first solo museum exhibition, 9769 Radio Drive at The Contemporary Museum, Honolulu, is now on view until May 8, 2011. |
